About the Role

:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join the Well Person Unit at St Bernard’s Hospital in Gibraltar. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking healthcare service that places prevention, early detection, and health promotion at the centre of patient care.

The Well Person Unit plays a vital role in delivering structured health screening programmes, chronic disease prevention initiatives, lifestyle interventions, and patient education services for the local population of approximately 34,000 residents.

You will work autonomously while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Benefits:
Salary – £45,821 to £53,878 pa depending on NHS Experience or equivalent
Accommodation – Provided for the full length of the contract
Travel – Free return economy flights provided at the start and finish of the contract

Job responsibilities:
Advanced knowledge of contraception and sexual health.
Experience in working in Nurse Led Clinics.
Competent in partner notification.
Knowledge and understanding of national guidance and policy related to the development of an integrated sexual health service.
Experience of staff leadership and management.
Experience working with young people Knowledge and understanding of the Clinical Governance framework.
Advanced skills in contraception and Sexual Health Nursing.
Ability to work independently to make good decisions and deal with conflict.
Good communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of standard setting and quality management.
Good organisational skills.
Venepuncture, microscopy and cryotherapy.
Administering treatments and vaccinations.
Non-judgemental able to support client choices (including those of young people).
Willingness to undertake further training and development.
Disposition – Empathetic, caring and compassionate, respectful, initiative and strong work ethic.

Person Specification:
Qualifications Essential
BSc Degree in Nursing
GUM qualification or course in STIs e.g STIF
NMP qualification & DFSRH
Post registration qualification in contraception e.g Registration with NRB

Desirable:
Mentorship/training qualification

Experience:
Essential – Suitably qualified Nurse Practitioners with at least three years of post-registration experience
