General Practitioner

Locum GP – Uist & Barra, Western Isles

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum GP to provide cover across GP practices and Uist & Barra Hospital in the beautiful Western Isles of Scotland.

Location: Uist & Barra, Outer Hebrides

Specialty: General Practice / Out of Hours / A&E

Working Rota:

Weeks 1 & 2: GP Practice, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30

Week 3: Uist & Barra Hospital, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00

Week 4: Out of Hours cover, Monday to Friday, 18:00 to 08:00, with 24-hour weekend shifts.

The role involves providing GP out-of-hours and A&E cover, including responsibility for a 17-bed community hospital.

The service is GP-led, with support from an experienced nursing team.

Requirements:

GMC registration and inclusion on the Scottish GP Performers List

Recent GP and A&E experience

ALS and/or BASICS Scotland PHEC training or equivalent desirable

Confidence working in a rural and remote healthcare setting
