Making a difference in the Falkland Islands: “A once-in-a-lifetime experience”

Curious about experiencing meaningful work, breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable wildlife encounters? Discover what it’s really like to work in the Falkland Islands with Dedicare through the experience of our consultant Josh.

How was your experience with Dedicare during the onboarding process?

Dedicare has been a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The onboarding process was incredibly easy and Chris guided me through every step.

How was your journey to the Falkland Islands?

The journey to the Falklands was smooth due to all the hard work that had been put into organising it, everything ran like clockwork and was transferred between airports with ease.

How did you find settling into life in the Falkland Islands?

Once I got to the Falklands I was made to feel incredibly welcome by Clare who went above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for your placement. The accommodation was clean and cosy and the team at KEMH are incredible. I felt really at home the whole time which is important when you think about how far away you are.

What made working in the Falkland Islands such a unique experience?

The work itself was interesting and felt like you made a real difference to the people of the Falklands community. This with combined with breathtaking landscapes and wildlife made it a once in a lifetime experience.

Did you get the opportunity to explore other places during your trip?

On the way home Dedicare arranged a different route detouring through South America and allowed me to spend some time there, again everything ran like clockwork and had some time to relax and enjoy the local culture before heading home.

Would you recommend Dedicare to other healthcare professionals considering working abroad?

I can’t recommend Dedicare enough, all of this was made possible from the hard work of their teams and hope to get away on another adventure with them in the future.
